Continued success of 176XT leads to unveiling of new 186XT

MURFREESBORO (October 10, 2007) For far too long, the options available for 17-foot boat buyers were few. The same aluminum boats with all their shortcomings were the norm. Beginning with the 2007 model year, however, Stratos responded to the needs of the 17-foot boat buyer with the 176XT. With its combination of features, fishability and outstanding value, the boat was an instant hit with serious and casual anglers everywhere. Case in point: in its first calendar year on the market, the Stratos 176XT has already become the top-selling boat in its class.

Fully rigged with a trailer, outboard engine, trolling motor and electronics, the economically priced Stratos 176XT allows even more people to join the boating lifestyle. In addition, the boat can be stored easily in most garages, seamlessly fitting in to owners' lifestyles. But it's on the water where the 176XT excels the most: its fishing features are designed to easily surpass the best-selling aluminum brands. Because the Stratos 176XT is so stable on the water, it provides even more peace of mind to anglers who prefer the inherent stability of an all-fiberglass boat when they stand or lean over the gunnels while landing a fish. The wider footprint also makes it an easier platform to maneuver with multiple anglers in the boat. Combined with a full roster of additional equipment and features, the 176XT has been lauded as an angler's dream – from price to performance.

With the success of the Stratos 176XT and the response from consumers who appreciate the boat builder's attempts to bring value and performance back to the industry, the 2008 model year will see another model added to the XT family. The Stratos 186XT will mirror the concept of the 176XT, with 12 more inches of front deck space and a 115 horsepower rating. With the extra foot on the bow, the 186XT offers fishing space that rivals most larger bass boats while delivering all the options that serious anglers want in a fishing boat as well as increased speed – all for less than $17,000.

While anglers continue to be amazed when they see the prices of the Stratos 176XT and 186XT, the fit, finish, fishability and features give these exciting fishing platforms all the ingredients of boats that cost thousands more. As the manufacturing costs of aluminum boats continue to skyrocket, anglers across the country have recognized the added value of these fiberglass designs – ultimately helping make the Stratos XT models the most popular boats in their class.
